Welcome to the website for the Brides of the Victorious Lamb. We are a new community of sisters in the Roman Catholic Church, founded in Omaha, Nebraska.

Archbishop George J. Lucas signed our decree of recognition as a Private Association of the Christian Faithful on February 11, 2012, the memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Our community is Eucharistic, Marian, contemplative,  open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit, devoted to Holy Father and faithful to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church.

Mission Statement

Impelled by the love which flows forth from our contemplative union with Jesus, the Victorious Lamb who was slain,  we strive to “stand in the breach” (Ezekiel 22: 30) and lay down our lives “to complete what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ on behalf of His body, the Church,” (Colossians 1:24) interceding with Him at the right hand of the Father.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit and in union with Mary, we participate in the Paschal Mystery, continuing His redemptive mission for the salvation of souls so that all may experience a new Pentecost, birthing the New Jerusalem within, and enter the Wedding Feast of the Lamb.

We strive to bring this contemplative spirituality to the broader Church to form contemplative intercessors through retreat work, spiritual direction and participation in the life of the parish where we reside.

Mother Elizabeth Marie had the great privilege of meeting Pope Francis when she travelled to Rome with the Papal Foundation. Her father is a member, so she was able to go with her family. The Foundation helps the Pope by supporting apostolates and charities particularly close to his heart. Cardinal Wuerl, the chairman of the Papal Foundation, interpreted for Pope Francis as he greeted each person individually at the Vatican’s Clementine Hall. Mother Elizabeth Marie was able to speak with him for a few minutes, telling him all about our new community, our mission, our apostolates, and that all the sisters sent their love and are praying for him every day. He was very happy with all that we are doing and responded, “Excellent!”

She gave the Holy Father our crucifix with Mary standing at the foot of the Cross, catching the Precious Blood in a chalice, which symbolizes our charism of intercession and our ministry to the suffering Body of Christ.

Mother Elizabeth Marie said that this meeting was a special blessing for our new community and that she experienced the Heavenly Father’s love and affirmation through Pope Francis. It was an awesome experience that she will never forget.
